Is there a supper dish with a more enticing name than "Meatloaf"? Reflect on it a meat loaf. Oh, how tempting... I suppose the term is rather well descriptive. If you will, consider truth in advertising. But I never actually ate meatloaf as a kid. It would be more accurate to call what I was given a "meatbrick." I ran away from the idea of meatloaf for years because it was a mostly bland, excessively dense chunk of meat.
My wife, however, loves meatloaf and routinely asks me to make
12 cup brown sugar that has been packed
Ketchup, 1/2 cup
1.5 lbs. of lean ground beef
14 cup of milk
Salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons
1/8 teaspoon of black pepper, ground
1 minced tiny onion
1/8 teaspoon of ginger powder
Crushed saltine cracker crumbs in 3/4 cup
Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C). Grease a 5 by 9-inch loaf pan very lightly.
Spread the ketchup over the brown sugar and press it into the bottom of the loaf pan.
All remaining ingredients should be properly mixed in a basin before being formed into a loaf. affix over the ketchup.
Bake for one hour, or until juices are clear, in a preheated oven.
